Tracy Soren

Biography:

A resident of Queens, New York, Tracy Soren is a poet, writer and temp who fears lactose intolerance. During college, she was a multiple competitor for the SUNY New Paltz Slam Team and the 2009 New Paltz Grand Slam Champion. In her graduating year, the team ranked ninth in the nation and first in their region. A Coach for the 2009-2010 team, she helped create and facilitate the second largest collegiate poetry slam in the nation, the Wade-Lewis Poetry Slam Invitational. She also helped lead the team to another regional title, the first WLPSI title and the title of sixth ranked team in the country.

She was chosen as one of three national winners for the 2009 Cora Craig Author Award for Young Women through which she received a publishing deal from Penmanship Books. While she is still working on her book, you can find her in the Intangible Collective's first anthology, Static and Other Lungless Things (Penmanship Books, 2009) for which she was a main editor.

Along with featuring and performing at various schools, programs and events, she has been a Nuyorican Poets Cafe Finalist and is currently an Intangible Grand Slam Finalist.

Tracy still owns 335 pogs which has nothing to do with why she is an Intangible but she thinks it should.
